Description
The MuvisDom system offers solutions for electrical dimming in housing areas. Small sized dimming units that can be controlled via radio and can be inserted in normal switch boxes (or false ceilings) to control lighting or plugs.
The switching is done with a control pad which replaces normal switches (so you can control different lighting levels), automatically, via remote control (wall fixed or portable), or via both of the two together.
The dimmers have different programming levels, that allow you to memorize different lighting effects with a single push of a button. For example you can have a “television scenario”, one for “romantic dinners” and an all off setting, that can also switch off all plugs therefore allowing you to turn all appliances that have a standby method off.
Benefits
The benefits of this system are numerable. For a start, the comfort, not having to handle a number of dimmer switches when you have guests for example or when you are in a rush to leave the house or go to bed, and this is also a good way of obtaining desired lighting levels and memorizing them once and for all.
This also allows a considerable reduction in energy consumption as most analogue dimming systems absorb full current rather than just the required wattage, the Muvis dimming system is electronic so it simply withdraws the required amount of electricity from the network.
The possibility of using the units on plugs also allows to save the energy that would be absorbed by electric appliances that have a stand-by mode (official figures say that the yearly saving could be between £30 and £50 per annum).
Finally the system lowers the amount of electromagnetic pollution in your house as the distribution stops at the switches units when not in use rather than at the plugs or lighting units, reducing the amount of energy circulating in the wiring.
Applications
Typical applications can be a living room, an area generally quite rich in lighting and electricity points, or bedrooms where you can automatically switch off television units when they are not being used and therefore reduce electromagnetic fields, also in this case you can have a “night reading” setting or a “soft general lighting” setting used for access to the rooms or to check the kids at night. |
